Now Hiring – Project Manager – Estimator
Our established commercial electrical firm is growing its clientele, and we have an excellent opportunity for the right candidate. The electrical project manager/estimator is responsible for assisting the Senior Estimator and project management for assigned accounts.
Essential Functions/Duties:
(While these duties are not all inclusive, they are a general representation of the duties you will encounter in this position.)
- Estimating
- Work with Senior Estimator to assist with project estimating and design
- Review project documents and specifications prior to preparing estimate
- Interact with subcontractors and vendors to obtain required quotations
- Prepare competitive and accurate estimates using company provided software
- Purchase bulk materials, packages and subcontracts in accordance with company guidelines
- Project Management
- Perform a project turnover meeting with field foreman to ensure the project is completed as estimated
- Attend construction meetings with clients as necessary
- Track daily, weekly, monthly project status
- Monitor job costs and assist accounting with billing needs
- Coordinate with customers, engineers, foremen, subcontractors, vendors and accounting to ensure timely and successful completion of the project
- Employee evaluations
Skills/Education Preferred:
- 2+ years’ experience in construction management and/or estimating
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word
- Team player in a small office environment
- Detail oriented, must have the ability to prioritize work, analyze information, identify discrepancies and meet deadlines
- Related industry degree or 5+ years field experience is preferred
